The Audissey Story
Audissey Custom AV Solutions was incorporated in 2010, but had its roots established long before in a company called Megatronics, that was based at Dutugamunu Street in Kohuwala, Sri Lanka.
Behind Audissey is our founder and managing director Kanishka Rehan Kulatilake, who is currently Sri Lanka’s only audiovisual professional to have earned the CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) qualification from AVIXA (the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association) the internationally recognized body that sets the standards for the AV industry worldwide.
Rehan started his career in electronics and AV in 1990, as a technician at Tele-Cine Limited – South Asia’s first color video production company. In ’92 he moved to the UAE to take on the position of ‘Audio Video Specialist’ at Al Futtaim Electronics. After four years in the Emirates he returned to Sri Lanka and established ‘Megatronics’ as a service center for electronic equipment.
In 1998 Megatronics received the honor of being appointed an Authorized Service Centre by Toshiba Corporation of Japan. Soon after came two more appointments – distributor in Sri Lanka for Maplin Electronics of England and Velleman Components of Belgium, which enabled the company to diversify in to importing and retailing electronic equipment, accessories, components and tools. The business also became a channel through which Rehan was able to turn his long-time passion of making custom-designed amplifiers and speakers into a small-scale commercial venture.
In 2004, ‘Audissey’ was registered as a brand name for the audio products that were handcrafted at Megatronics and the company’s focus shifted gradually from servicing equipment to providing customized audio solutions and later to audio visual solutions. With this, it was felt that Megatronics required a name change and so Audissey Custom AV Solutions was born.
Megatronics wound up its operations with the establishment of Audissey. The tie-ups with Toshiba, Maplin and Velleman were not transferred to Audissey.
Audissey has direct tie-ups with manufacturers in Europe and the USA, including Atlona, Audac, Procab and Russound, to make their products available to our customers. We also work closely with the distributors in Sri Lanka for many other brands of AV and IT equipment to enable us to provide the optimum solution for a client’s requirement.
Our vision at Audissey from inception has been to become the most customer focused and trusted AV systems integrator in Sri Lanka. Over the past thirteen years, we have worked quietly and diligently towards this goal, one project at a time. Along the way, we have added acoustic treatment, soundproofing, CCTV systems, and LAN/WLAN solutions to our portfolio.
We are sought after by discerning clients who value our high standards of workmanship and attention to detail through every phase of a project. And we maintain those same standards even after completion, with operator training, maintenance and upgrades as necessary.
