Q: What is a VGA cable?
A: A VGA (Video Graphics Array) cable usually has 15-pin DE-15 connectors at both ends and is most often used to connect a desktop or laptop computer to a computer monitor or projector. At a minimum, the cable will carry RGB (Red / Green / Blue) video signals and H/V (Horizontal / Vertical) sync signals.
Q: What is EDID and DDC?
A: EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) and DDC (Display Data Channel) enable display devices to communicate their maximum resolution and refresh rate capability etc. to a video source such as a computer, which will then automatically adjust its output to match.
