Product Overview

The Denon AVR-X1800H is a 7.2 channel AV receiver built as the centerpiece of a home theater system, combining 8K-ready video switching with immersive 3D audio processing. It’s designed to power a full surround speaker setup directly, handling both amplification and source switching in one unit.

Discrete 7-channel amplification delivers 80W per channel (8Ω, 20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD, 2-channel driven), enough to comfortably drive most speaker setups in a small to medium-sized room. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X provide object-based 3D surround sound, with Dolby Surround and DTS Neural:X upmixing available to extend legacy stereo or 5.1 content across a wider speaker array. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X can simulate overhead height effects on setups without dedicated height speakers.

On the video side, three of the receiver’s six HDMI inputs (labeled Game, AUX1, and AUX2) support full 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz pass-through, along with HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, and Dynamic HDR compatibility — useful for pairing with the latest game consoles and 4K/8K source devices. The remaining three inputs (CBL/SAT, Media Player, Blu-ray) support up to 4K. Audyssey room correction uses an included calibration microphone to automatically measure and adjust the system’s output to suit the acoustics of the room it’s installed in.

Built-in HEOS technology allows the AVR-X1800H to stream music wirelessly from services like Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, and Deezer, and to share audio with other HEOS-enabled speakers around the home for synced multi-room listening. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Apple AirPlay 2 provide additional ways to stream from a phone, tablet, or computer.
