Product Overview
The Sonos Sub Mini is a compact subwoofer built to add deep, distortion-free bass to a compatible Sonos soundbar or speaker, without the size or cost of Sonos’s larger Sub. It’s designed for small to medium-sized rooms where a full-size subwoofer would be overkill, pairing well with models like the Beam (Gen 2), Ray, Era 100, One, or One SL.
Important: the Sub Mini is a companion device, not a standalone speaker. It cannot play audio on its own and must be paired wirelessly with a compatible primary Sonos soundbar or speaker (sold separately) to function — it exclusively reproduces low-frequency bass, leaving the paired speaker free to focus on mid and high frequencies for cleaner, more balanced overall sound.
Inside its sealed cylindrical cabinet, dual 6″ woofers face inward to create a force-canceling effect, minimizing unwanted vibration, buzz, and rattle while producing a claimed low-frequency response down to 25 Hz. A pill-shaped center tunnel — a nod to the design of the original Sonos Sub — helps move air efficiently through the compact enclosure. Setup is handled entirely through the Sonos app: once paired, the Sub Mini’s volume automatically links to its paired speaker, while bass level and EQ can still be adjusted independently. Trueplay tuning further optimizes the sound to the acoustics of the room it’s placed in.
