Product Overview

The Sonos Move 2 is a rugged, portable speaker built to work equally well as part of a home Wi-Fi multi-room system and as a standalone Bluetooth speaker on the go. It’s the successor to the original Move, carrying over the same built-in handle and durable design while adding true stereo sound and significantly longer battery life.

The Move 2 can be used in three ways: as a standalone portable speaker anywhere in or outside the home, connected via Bluetooth when away from Wi-Fi; as part of a home Wi-Fi multi-room system, grouping with other Sonos speakers for synced or independent audio around the house; or as one half of a stereo pair with a second Move 2 for wider left/right separation in one space (note: pairing across generations, i.e. an original Move with a Move 2, is not supported due to their different driver configurations).

Two angled tweeters and a precision-tuned mid woofer, driven by three Class-D amplifiers, deliver true stereo sound and a wider soundstage than the original Move’s mono design. On a full charge, the Move 2 plays for up to 24 hours — double the original’s rating — and recharges on its included charging base, or via USB-C with a compatible USB-PD charger when away from home. Automatic Trueplay tuning uses the speaker’s built-in microphones to continually analyze and adjust the sound to wherever it’s placed.

Rated IP56 for water, dust, and UV resistance, and built with shock-absorbent materials, the Move 2 is designed to handle rain, splashes, dirt, and drops — suitable for patios, pool parties, and general outdoor use, not just indoor listening. A far-field microphone array supports built-in voice control, and an optional USB-C line-in adapter (sold separately) allows a wired analog connection when preferred over wireless streaming.
