Product Overview

The Audac XMP44 is a professional modular audio source system built to consolidate multiple audio sources into a single 19″ rack-mountable unit. Rather than fixed inputs, it provides 4 SourceCon interface card slots, each accepting a different plug-in module depending on the audio source required for a given installation.

Important: the XMP44 is a chassis for SourceCon modules, which are sold separately. On its own, the unit provides mounting, power, control, and network connectivity for up to 4 modules simultaneously, but does not include any source modules out of the box. Available modules (each sold individually) include FM tuners, DAB/DAB+ tuners, internet radio tuners, Bluetooth receivers, voice file/media players, and a Dante/AES67 network audio interface — allowing a system to be configured with any combination of up to 4 sources to suit the installation.

Installation of modules is tool-light: cards slide into guide rails and connect via board-edge connections, so a module is automatically discovered and ready for operation as soon as it’s inserted, without additional internal wiring. All 4 installed modules can operate simultaneously, making the XMP44 a compact multi-source hub well suited to multi-zone background music systems.

The front panel includes a 2.8″ graphical LCD display with a push-rotary dial and tactile buttons for on-unit control, alongside a built-in PFL (pre-fade listen) speaker with its own volume control, letting an installer preview any module’s output without external equipment. Control and configuration is also available remotely, via RS-232, TCP/IP, a built-in HTML5 web interface, or the free Audac Touch app for smartphones and tablets. An optional Dante/AES67 network interface module allows the XMP44 to integrate directly into a compatible AV network for low-latency digital audio transfer.
